McKamey Animal Center is seeking dedicated, enthusiastic professionals to join their team as veterinary technician.  The position is a 40 hour full time job.
The ideal candidate must have great work ethic, possess strong customer service skills,be self-motivated and team focused.
We have one full time doctor, three part time doctors and three licensed veterinary technicians on staff in the vet clinic. We primarily deal with small companion animals but on occasion will have pocket pets, exotics and livestock. We recognize the importance of the relationships between humans and animals and strive to spread the word of the importance of lifetime veterinary care for companion animals. Our vet clinic primarily focuses on the care of our in house animals, although we do offer grant subsidized spay and neuters to the public. We participate in Rescue Waggin and other transports in the eastern region to help place pets in their forever homes.  McKamey is also a teaching facility to the Chattanooga State Veterinary Technology Program and veterinary students at 5 different universities.
Education/Experience:  Ideal candidates will be an LVT/RVT/CVT. Experience with shelter software is a plus.  A high school diploma, veterinary technician degree, passing of the VTNE, and state licensure is required. We offer competitive wages, continuing education, health and dental insurance. Weekends and some holidays will be required.

Officers provide animal services to the community, education regarding responsible ownership, enforcement of local ordinances and state law and first line protection to animals in need. 
 Education/Experience: Criminal Justice or related college degree preferred.  Proof of high school diploma is required.  Experience in animal protection, investigation, management, administration, shelter operations, military service, law enforcement, criminal justice or public security are required related employment fields.  Minimum two years working in an animal related field dealing with people/public.
 Position requirements: The staff rotation schedule requires a willingness to work when needed to maintain call standards, to be an on call officer working weekends and nights plus the open availability to work over time when needed.  Due to McKamey’s requirement of a 30 minute or less travel/response time for night emergency calls, applicants must live in Hamilton County.

No positions currently available – Work within a team setting to oversee the health, well being, and general care of Center animals. Responsible for maintaining a safe and sanitary facility for animals and people and providing humane handling and care for all Center animals on a daily basis. Assist the public when adopting animals and promote responsible pet ownership.

No positions currently available – This position provides two vital services within the organization: Direct telephone/radio communication services to the community and animal service officers regarding animal control within the city limits of Chattanooga plus in-take and processing of animals from community residents.
