POSITION AVAILABLE – The Adoption Supervisor has a complete knowledge of the policies and procedures of the McKamey Animal Center and possess’ the ability to analyze and assess processes and protocols. The Adoption Supervisor must develop a strong and positive working relationship with all McKamey staff members. The Adoption Supervisor will train, oversee, evaluate and discipline all Adoption Counselors who are working with the health, well-being, general care and adoptability of Center animals. The Adoption Supervisor is responsible for the overall adoption processing of animals within the Center. Responsible for maintaining a safe and sanitary facility for animals and people while providing humane handling and care for all Center animals on a daily basis. Assist the public when admitting or adopting animals and promote the teaching of responsible pet ownership.
QUALIFICATIONS: College/associates degree and/or two years’ management/supervisory experience. Minimum two years of working and interacting with the public desired. Individual will have an interest in animal care and welfare. Show an energetic, positive and upbeat outlook.

POSITION AVAILABLE – Individual works within a team setting to oversee the health, well-being and general care of Center animals.  Responsible for maintaining a safe and sanitary facility for animals and people while providing humane handling and care for all Center animals on a daily basis.  Assist the public when admitting animals and promote responsible pet ownership.
 QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma is required.  Individual must have interest in animal care and welfare, an outlook that is energetic, upbeat and positive plus experience interacting with the public.

POSITION AVAILABLE – Are you a veterinary technician looking for a new and exciting opportunity? Are you looking for a place with continual opportunities to learn? Well, here it is! McKamey Animal Center is seeking dedicated, enthusiastic professionals to join their team as veterinary technician.  The position is a 40 hour full time job.
The ideal candidate must have great work ethic, possess strong customer service skills,be self-motivated and team focused.
We have one full time doctor, three part time doctors and three licensed veterinary technicians on staff in the vet clinic. We primarily deal with small companion animals but on occasion will have pocket pets, exotics and livestock. We recognize the importance of the relationships between humans and animals and strive to spread the word of the importance of lifetime veterinary care for companion animals. Our vet clinic primarily focuses on the care of our in house animals, although we do offer grant subsidized spay and neuters to the public. We participate in Rescue Waggin and other transports in the eastern region to help place pets in their forever homes.  McKamey is also a teaching facility to the Chattanooga State Veterinary Technology Program and veterinary students at 5 different universities.
Education/Experience:  Ideal candidates will be an LVT/RVT/CVT. Experience with shelter software is a plus.  A high school diploma, veterinary technician degree, passing of the VTNE, and state licensure is required. We offer competitive wages, continuing education, health and dental insurance. Weekends and some holidays will be required.

POSITIONS AVAILABLE – Provide animal services to the community, education regarding responsible pet ownership, enforcement of local ordinances and state law and first line protection to animals in need.
 Education/Experience: College degree preferred.  Proof of high school diploma is required.  Experience in animal protection, investigation, management, administration, shelter operations, military service, law enforcement, criminal justice or public security are required related employment fields.  Minimum two years working in an animal related field dealing with people/public.
 Position requirements: The staff rotation schedule requires a willingness to work when needed to maintain call standards, to be an on call officer working weekends and nights plus the open availability to work over time when needed.  McKamey requires a 30 minute or less travel/response time within Hamilton County for night emergency calls.
