Volunteers Needed!

McKamey volunteers are on the front lines of helping Chattanooga’s homeless pets. Volunteers are always needed, and there are many types of volunteers opportunities available.

What helps our homeless animals the most? Becoming a regular volunteer! As a regular volunteer, you will choose how you would like to help the animals here:  walk dogs, spend time with kitties, help feed and clean, take animals to offsite adoption events, and much more. Volunteers go through a two-hour orientation process to learn how to become Dog Walkers or Cat Butlers and from those positions have the opportunity to train for other positions.

To become a regular volunteer, please email Amber at You will receive a volunteer application and information about new volunteer orientation at the Center.

Please note:  We require volunteers to be 16 years of age or older to volunteer at McKamey Animal Center. So as not to take away valuable resources from the animals in our care, we ask for a one-time commitment fee of $20 from volunteers to help us defray costs.

If you have a group interested in volunteering at the Center, please contact Amber Battaglia
