Community Cat Coordinator
McKamey is seeking an organized and motivated animal welfare professional with outstanding initiative to take our community cat program to the next level! This person will: reduce intake and length of stay of unowned community cats by diverting candidates to RTF services instead of intake, identify areas of the community in need of TNR intervention, support cat caregivers with advice and resources, and educate friendly, helpful education to the public, staff and volunteers to shift the culture of community cats overall. This position will include field work, prioritizing community needs, trapping, organizing volunteers, community relations and the coordination of transport for community cats.
Strong interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations. Must be able to relate and confer with the directors, managers and fellow staff members in a positive and constructive way; exercise good judgment when dealing with the public and when making decisions in the absence of a supervisor. The ideal person for this job is a team player, personable, professional, upbeat and energetic, takes the initiative, and uses tact and diplomacy.
Knowledge of feline/animal health, care and welfare. Ability to work with felines/animals.
