Deputy Director of Animal Services

The Deputy Director of Animal Services is the Co-Supervisor of Animal Services Officers & shares the responsibility for the oversight & accountability of day to day departmental operations of Animal Services, Dispatch & Admissions. The Deputy Director is responsible for public relations, program development, community outreach, and development of departmental work schedules & monitoring to insure proper use of time.

Bachelor’s Degree preferred or equivalent of two years of college level course work in law enforcement, animal control, animal science, business or other animal related areas. Must live within a 20 miles of the Center to insure a 30 minute response time for emergencies.

Minimum of three (3) years’ experience as an Animal Services Officer or related law enforcement capacity involving dealing with the public regarding the response to complaints & the enforcement of state laws & ordinances. Proven skills / experience in animal protection, investigation & personnel supervision.

$16.25 per hour (90 day probationary) $17.25 per hour (Commissioned Animal Services Officer)
