McKamey Animal Center’s 2021 Gala was its most successful ever, attracting almost 300 attendees and raising nearly $125,000 to support its lifesaving work. Featuring a “Jellicle Evening” theme inspired by the hit Broadway play Cats, the 2021 MAC gala, held at the Chattanoogan hotel on June 25, 2021, proved to be the most successful fundraiser in the organization’s history.
“The 2021 MAC Gala exceeded our wildest expectations,” said MAC Executive Director Inga Fricke. “I cannot express how grateful I am to all of our friends and supporters who came out to celebrate the lifesaving work MAC has done in the past and ensure that we are able to do even more in the future.”
While MAC does receive a portion of its funding from the cities it is contracted to serve, the bulk of its funding is dependent on donations from the local community. “Our donors mean the world to us, and quite literally the world to the animals we serve. Without them, there would be no Center to take in the thousands of animals that come through our doors each year,” said Lauren Mann, Advancement Manager, “we are so grateful for the support from our sponsors, donors and those who attended the event to make it as successful as it was.”
Planning is already underway for MAC’s next major fundraiser, the 3rd Annual Robert G. McKamey Memorial Golf Tournament to be held at Council Fire Golf Club on November 2, 2021.
