Current Case

On January 31, 2022, a Good Samaritan called to report that a stray dog with electrical tape around her mouth and a twine rope around her neck, had wandered onto her porch. When McKamey Animal Center Animal Protection officers arrived, they rescued this terrified, small, mixed-breed dog and immediately brought her to our medical clinic to remove the electrical tape and check for other injuries.

"This is a blatant case of animal cruelty," said McKamey Animal Center's Director of Animal Protection, Mary Howard. "If she had not wandered onto the porch of a citizen who was able to immediately call for assistance there's no telling what might have happened to her. There is simply no excuse or justification for treating any animal this way, and we are eager to find and prosecute the person or persons responsible."

McKamey Animal Center needs the public's help in identifying the perpetrators of this horrendous act of animal cruelty. If you have any information about this dog, her owner(s) or the perpetrator(s), please call us immediately at 423-305-6500 x153 or email

MAC is offering a $4,500 reward for information that leads to the prosecution of the individual or individuals involved. Donations to the MAC Reward Fund may be made by clicking below to help increase this reward.
