Dogs In Outdoor Dining Permit
At McKamey we encourage dog owners to participate in activities that involve their dog as often as possible. We are excited that the Chattanooga City Council has chosen to adopt an ordinance that allows dogs to be with their owners during meals enjoyed on Chattanooga's outdoor dining patios. To find out what dog friendly dining patios and event are near you, check out The Howl! We hope to see many dog owners relaxing with their pets at these dog friendly restaurants !
- Tennessee State Law (T.C.A. § 6-54-135) requires restaurants to have a permit if they have an outdoor dining area that allows pet dogs.
- In Chattanooga the permit fee is $50 per calendar year. All permits expire 12/31.
- To apply for a permit, download the permit application and mail with payment to McKamey Animal Center OR apply in person at McKamey Admissions Office: Tuesday. thru Friday. 11:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
- Restaurants that allow pet dogs in the outdoor dining area without a permit could be cited to City Court and face a fine of $50 per violation.
